A friend first introduced me to this mat. There have been a few occasions when I bought litter that was a smaller granule in size. I didn't like how it tracked though the house. So I usually bought a product with larger pieces. At one time I had carpet. Now I live in an apartment with wooden floors and this mat has been saved me from getting out the vacuum. The concept is great. The litter falls out of the cats paws into the openings of the mesh. Wish I'd thought of it.

With 3 cats in the house litter tracking is a real issue. I have tried many other types of mats and this one is the best one to date. I have a litter robot which already reduces litter fall out greatly and this mat traps what does fall out very well. It's also easy to clean by just simply picking it up and dumping it out. No mat will catch 100% of the litter fall out because I'm pretty sure cats just need to see a trail of it like bread crumbs leading to the box.

I have 3 cats. I purchased 2 of these products. I found it to be so good that I bought 2 more for a family member. the mat is very light and spreads nicely. The great thing about it is the litter gets trapped in the mat and is not dragged around the house. Litter outside the box area was reduced by about 90%. Clean up is simple. You can either shake out the excess litter when needed, and if necessary rinse down the mat. I will be buying a few more to have on hand incase I need to have extras.
