This bike-leash is well made, and works very well. The instructions are easy to follow, and there's even a video on the DJ website that shows clearly how to adjust the "breakaway" mechanism (must-do!) for your dog's weight. The leash attaches to either side of your bike, so you can adapt to various settings and conditions. I attached it in seconds, and away we went. My dog knew immediately where to trot, and the moderate pace we established kept her focused on the road, not distractions. At one point, she tried to stop, resulting in a mild jerk of the leash, but not enough to disturb me (and I'm a mature, wobbly rider). Since she's a mature dog and not used to sustained trotting, we're slowly building her range, so she enjoys the experience and doesn't get over-tired or sore.

Have been using for awhile now, so able to post a review. Works well. Only issue is that it is a bit long so my dog still reaches the front tire even with it adjusted to shortest length. Of course, she is a big dog, so that might play into it. She did sidetrack a few times at first to chase something, but the response of the leash bungee brought her quickly back next to me without any loss of control of the bike. Would highly recommend this as bike remains stable even if dog pulls off to side.

Best fix is make a secondary backup lanyard from paracord. 57 lb hound loves this set up but make sure you reward them with some sniff time or they get bored. Watch for ears near the front wheel and check their feet frequently, bring lots of water. Now I can cut her loose and she stays near the bike! Best new K9 invention! If I was younger...I would run twin hound power!
