Many complain on the welds on these stands. I agree that the welds do look sloppy in some places, however, there are no gaps or pitting that would appear to impact the reliability. I would like to see though a weld on both sides of the stand base, these have only a weld on the inside, not the outside. I use these along with a pair of the 6 ton version, using the 6 ton stands in the front of the truck and these in the rear, as the engine carries more weight. I am able to use the 6 ton stands with only one ratchet notch raised, and these with 3 notches raised, so there is no over extension to be concerned with. If you have a SUV or larger truck, these stands are great for the purpose.
