This is a simple effective zoom lens. I found the images just as clear with the lens as it was without. The lense screws into the holder for mounting. I did use a tripod for stability. I worry the blury examples may be people stretching their digital zoom to it's max. The images I attached are with a Gallaxy S10 on 2x zoom because that's the limit of my physical zoom. I focused in on something 50 ft and 75 yards away with the unzoomed photo in the middle.

The most important thing to understand about any glass of this power is that the closer an object is the more unsteady your viewing will seem while holding it offhand. The farther away the object is the steadier it will be. I've spotted deer at 5 or 600 yds and it seemed shaky but I've also looked at mountains a mile or more away and everything was still. The glass quality is excellent for the price. It does get hazy and start to phase out around dusk. This monocular is fantastic for the money.

I have never been able to see through binoculars, although people have tried to teach me. I decided to try a monocular, and this one is amazing! I was able to use it right out of the box to see birds high in trees in my backyard. I am so happy! After reading reviews, I didn't expect the phone attachment to work well without a tripod. I gave it a try, though, and on my first try got this photo with the phone attached to the monocular of a bald eagle high in a tree! I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Looking forward to taking it hiking from now on.

I recently have purchased three monoculars. The one that appeared to be the most well built and impressive looking I sent back. The other one that claimed it was a 199.00 item but of course on sale was easier and clearer to focus and obviously not well built yet I kept and now stays in my car. The gosky dollar for dollar is the Better buy. Very pleased with it. The hand strap is nice and I would rather have it then than a cheesy tri pod. The I phone holder is well built too. Glad to see for the money it was spent on the quality of the product instead other items.

This monocular is very sturdy. Looks like it can take bumps and drops. We'll see what happens the first time I drop it -- you know that always happens. The image is clear and bright. The hand strap allows me to keep it steady even without a tripod -- but a tripod definitly helps. The smartphone mount is acutally pretty easy to use, and unlike some of the other reviews, I think it's quite solid. I attached my iPhone 11 and was able to take some great shots. The only thing I wish it included is a strap to attach the eyepiece cover so it doesn't get lost -- but other than that, I am very happy with this purchase.

After unboxing we wanted to see how good or bad it worked. It brings in objects well and the clarity is awesome! I bought it for a trip my son and I are planning to go on in the Colorado mountains. The only thing about it is that it's so powerful and clear that a tripod is a must. Without one the objects shake way to much to really get to look at them as much as you want to. I laid it down on a sand bag prop and could read a license plate from approximately 150 yards or more! So the next thing I'm ordering off Amazon is a tripod for it. But for the fit and finish of it and balance is second to none! Well worth the money!

I bought this for my son for Christmas. It was a great price for something I knew he didn't have but he would find it useful. First off he loves it. He is an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman and this monocular is a perfect addition to his tools. The other thing I want to say is about the manufacturer. My son filled out the warranty and doing so meant he was asked for his email. To his pleasant surprise, he got a personal response from the maker of his monocular and was offered an accessory for free. I dont know all the details, but my son was very impressed and that's not easy to do. I highly recommend any Katycarft products solely based on the incredible customer service.

Monocular provides high definition view under relatively high magnification. The views are very stable even when driving in the car. It is very comfortable to hold in one hand while easy to adjust with only one finger. We used this monocular during our recent weekly trip to the Yellowstone park and enjoyed it watching wolves and bears. I am taking it with me to all my hiking and fishing trips. The provided iPhone attachment is the only part I did not like because it did not provide enough grip on the scope to hold the phone steady. My advise is to replace it with a separate universal attachment provided by Gosky. Finally, the monocular should be used with the tripod for prolonged viewing of animals.

I was skeptical about this product, but thought I would try it and return it if I was dissatisfied. It works really well. Tough to hold it steady when it is zoomed out to the max, but works great for closer objects. I loaded it on a tripod and attached my iPhone 6s with the mounting hardware provided, then zoomed in the best I could with the scope and used the phone zoom to take a pic of the street sign on the corner of my street. I used my bike computer to measure the sign distance to be 200 yards. I tested it again and took a pic of a bald eagle nest approx 170 yards away. Both pics were with the scope on a tripod and I used a shutter release cable to prevent vibration. I am satisfied with this product.

I'm not an experienced user. This is the only optic I've used other than cheap binoculars I've played with as a kid. That said, the quality and clarity of this piece is quite an upgrade! The adjustment knob is slow and smooth, it feels great to use. The polymer housing (polypropylene?) is robust enough that it will probably survive an accidental drop, especially if the rubber lense covers are on. It comes with a hand strap that is padded and made of faux leather, that attaches with a nylon strap and is adjustable. I use mine with a 6' telescoping monopod that attaches at the female threaded mounting point underneath. Nothing rattles or wobbles if I shake it or roughly handle it, everything seems to be of high tolerances. I was surprised by how powerful the lense is for such a small package! I may prefer binoculars for the comfort of using two eyes and having depth perception, but carrying binoculars of equal power would be at least twice the size and weight, and would be more awkward to carry with the monopod attached. So it's not really fair to compare this to binoculars. Anyway, it's a good product and I feel it was worth the money.
