Mini Lathe for Wood and Metal with Polishing and Cutting Capabilities

I purchased this mini lathe to make a crank handle knob for an antique oil pump. The listing incorrectly states a maximum diameter of 70mm of material to be turned. The operating manual correctly states that 50mm is the maximum. The motor power was better than expected and the unit is sturdy for such a small unit. I was able to fabricate ( using elm wood) an exact replica knob 45mm in diameter. The tools included worked well.

It's just like it's shown. I'll be using it for model ship mast turning. If you can't make things like this it's a good value for the money. It comes with a cover that allows it to be used as a mini saw IF you have the Dremel saw blades. All in all I think it's nicely made for the price and has the added benefit that it can be easily modified.

It is important that recipients look closely at the contents because my grandson didn't realise that everything he needed was in the pack such as the chuck tool for supporting the chuck end.

Know its limitations before you buy and you should be happy with it when you get it. Don’t expect it to do much more than what it is designed for. I’ll be making radio knobs and pipe bowls and stems and even some small pulleys with mine.

I bought this lathe, not knowing exactly what to expect. The cutting tools that are included with the lathe are not good quality, so you will need to use other ones. I have been able to turn a large number of high quality small items, such as pens and pencils. So long as keep the size limitations of this lathe in mind, you will not be disappointed.

Accuracy is up to the user, but operating concentricity is good, adjustable power supply is nice. I built a jig and turned it into a table saw for my model boat building.

Absolutely amazing value for the money. I turned 2 small bowls in just one afternoon. It's a small lathe so the biggest bowl you can turn is about 6" but it looks like it would be great for turning pens too. You need a light touch - it will jam easily however, if your tools are sharp and you take it slow it works great. I don't have room for a full size lathe and I'm over my tool budget for the year so this has been a fantastic alternative. If your chisels are too long to get inside the bowl the tailstock comes off easily with 2 screws. LOVING THIS LATHE !!!!!

For the price, this lathe is super hard to beat. It does exactly what I want it to do, and I have taken up an enjoyable new hobby. I'm not an expert woodworker, so I can't speak to some of the potentially missing bells and whistles, but for a beginner, this is the lathe for you.

Bought this for my boyfriend for christmas so he could use it to make wood pipes. He absolutaly loves it. He broke one of the chissel things that comes with it but im not sure it it was equipment malfunction or operator error.
