I purchased this mini lathe to make a crank handle knob for an antique oil pump. The listing incorrectly states a maximum diameter of 70mm of material to be turned. The operating manual correctly states that 50mm is the maximum. The motor power was better than expected and the unit is sturdy for such a small unit. I was able to fabricate ( using elm wood) an exact replica knob 45mm in diameter. The tools included worked well.

It's a small lathe so the biggest bowl you can turn is about 6" but it looks like it would be great for turning pens too. You need a light touch - it will jam easily however, if your tools are sharp and you take it slow it works great. I don't have room for a full size lathe and I'm over my tool budget for the year so this has been a fantastic alternative. If your chisels are too long to get inside the bowl the tailstock comes off easily with 2 screws. LOVING THIS LATHE !!!!!
