I don't know why I didn't buy something like this years ago. I can't tell you how many times my pasta water spilled, creating a mess on the counter that I had to clean. The problem with pasta is that you need it to boil but then it tends to boil over unless I'm standing there watching it, which I never do, that's my problem. These lids really work and it's easy to lift the edge off to stir the pasta.
