Description

Premium Woodworking Doweling Jig

Clamp on to workpieces for precise right angle drilling. Designed to accommodate drilling for dowel pins requiring exact alignment Hole sizes are permanently cast and will not wear out Five drills. The metal guide center holes are precision drilled and reamed for accuracy of the drill bit. You can drill two identical parallel holes without moving the jig.

Features:

Handles stock up to 2-inch thick
Six hardened steel bushings are provided: two each of 1/4-Inch, 5/16-Inch, and 3/8-Inch

Drill hole sizes: 1/4-inch, 5/16-inch, 7/16-inch, and 1/2-inch
Quality Material: Made from aluminum alloy material that is more stable and corrosion resistant

Accurate positioning: The Fixture bolts provide a very good thread and give bushes of different sizes to realize simple and convenient precise drilling so that the positioning is more accurate, no offset or gaps are left.

This makes easy work of Pocket Holes. I just finished a closet organizing project where I probably made over 100 pocket holes and they came out strong and accurate. I did have to watch it when drilling the pocket hole screws into 1/2 inch boards and plywood - you can easily drill in the screws too far and strip out the wood. But that was my problem - no fault of the jig. If you have pocket holes to make, get it.

Have always want a Premium Woodworking Doweling Jig jig, finally got an excuse to buy one as I was building planter boxes. Easy to use, accurate holes easy to move to different pieces of wood without resetting it. Only complaint is that the stop doesn’t have a point for 1 in thick wood, it goes from 3/4 to 1 1/2 in. I used 3/4 and worked fine.

This is a pretty cool tool. Easy to use and it makes the perfect hole. It comes with everything you need except a clamp to hold it in place while using it. My mistake was that I purchased the plastic clamps because they (and I), are cheap. Those clamps will "walk" on you and mess the hole up. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and get the metal clamps. You'll definitely need extra screws also. Some come with it but not really enough for the average project. But this tool is great.

This is one of the most useful tools I have purchased in a while. The jig works great for joining 2x4's on the wide sides and the adjustable stopper on the drill bit is also awesome for drilling exact holes for plugs or dowels to cover screw heads. My only complaint is that it only comes with a long square but for driving screws, which is easily remedied by ordering a phillips separately. Also if you have a good grip you do do not even need to use a clamp. The rubberized bottom of the jig is great.

I decided to make some outdoor tables for whiskey drinking and I didn't want any screw heads showing. I picked up this Premium Woodworking Doweling Jig never having used one before and it couldn't have been easier. 64 hidden screw later I am in love and looking for more, random projects simply do I can use it more. One of my favorite tools and I grew up working in the Sears hardware department.
