I'm in shock at what a great product this is. I have thick color treated curly/frizzy hair, with roots that stand up, and while I am quite pro at doing my own blowout, this little machine is a game changer - so I'm writing this review to share the joy with others who have difficult hair like mine! See attached pics. I washed and slept on damp hair and then two passes per piece using a brush to hold the hair and the iron behind it (pulling both down at the same time) and see the after pic! My hair has the super silky properly flattened cuticle feel so it hold the straight for days and feels so healthy! I used two drops of argan oil in the tank of distilled water. Note that it didn't look like tons of steam was coming out but every so often I could hear the crackling of the steam and some steam showed. I expected a poof of steam the whole time, and maybe some of the machines produce this, but even without it, my hair is incredible. It's such a relief to not have to blow hair first before ironing! I tried another brand of steam straightener that uses oil first, but it was shaped really weird (had a 90 degree angle on one of the plates) so I returned it. I'm so glad I wasn't discouraged from trying this one out. I've tried other gimmicky straighteners like the iron brush thing and those always get my ok but still poofy, and not something I would use if I wanted perfect hair for an event. This steam straightener gets my hair so straight and silky, like I just got a Blowout!
