I purchased this to make sure there is no shock problem when we plug our travel trailer into power. I've been shocked by "hot skin" and use this to make sure there is no current flowing through the outside skin of the trailer. This will protect us and our dogs, who have been shocked when they go to climb up the stairs and have their rear feet on the ground. And it will also verify power is cut off when working with a socket in the house.

Ok, I've always wanted one of these. My primary tester was on with the light bulb in the handle. I would always break it or misplace it cut they looked like every other tool. This tester is so cool and easy to use. It works right out of the box and all you have to do it turn it on and insert it into a plug, or touch it to a wire and it will notify you of a hot wire. I have a truck that I'm working on and soon I will be using it to rewire everything and this will be my primary tester.

I highly recommend buying this for any electrical work. I have an older house and the electric was replaced to be current at some point but it can be confusing finding what they did when they were installing it and what breaker certain items are on. This has made every job so much easier. I changed out a 3 way normal light switch in my house with a smart switch and it made it so much better to see what wire was triggers, live, and neural. I also added some more outlets in my house easily with this because its a great feeling to test the wire before starting and being positive its safe to work on. Not to mention its not that expensive so its defiantly worth the money.

I did a little DIY home electric work. I was a bit hesitant because, well, I don't want to electrocute myself. Every video I watched said to confirm wires were safe by using a voltage detector. Off I went to Amazon to find this little guy that was under $20. It works perfectly fine. It even came with AAA batteries installed. Switch on and you can set sensitivity which worked great. I could even trace lines in the wall to see how they were run. I pointed at the transformer outside my house and it started beeping "Hi-Voltage" and turned red. Pretty neat. I safely installed breakers and some new wiring to some 220/240V Appliances. Was very proud of myself that I did it all safely and correctly. Don't know how often I'll use this, but for the price it can stay in my toolbox.

its very sensitive and works very well, but you need to change to low voltage setting which you dont have to on the klein. I have no problem using this one over the klein as i have three testers in each of my main work bags. i hate not having one close at hand as i dont like getting zapped by some open wire.

I was repairing my stove and needed a voltage tester. This unit was perfect for the job. I simply needed to make sure the voltage was getting to the heating coils. Or to find where I lost the voltage. I was able to find the break in voltage and repair the stove very quickly. Plus it does not require contact so it is safe.

I've used MANY MANY non contact voltage testers in the past. For the price I decided to give this one a try. This is by far the best. The display has a strength meter making it very useful when trying to find a single live wire in a electrical box with many conductors. The Red color of the tester makes it easy to find in my electrical tool box.

If you are into DIY or just general maintenance like changing out A/C capacitors or putting in a ceiling fan, this is a great little tool to be sure you're safe and there's juice in the line. Just hold it on/near a wire and if there's a hot current running under the insulation you'll get an audible and visual warning. You never have touch a lead, it is a proximity tool.

I was going to replace a light switch upstairs. I had tagged and locked the circuit breaker that shut the light off and, just to test the tester, I tried it and found there was still power to the switch even though the circuit breaker was off. It turned out that switch is served by two circuit breakers; one it shares with the downstairs switch for the same light fixture. A shock probably wouldn't have killed me, but those thing hurt.
