Wooden Lunch Box Japanese Bento Lunchbox

Cute but not the best for leak proof and it’s very delicate but if your prepared for a delicate bento this is for you but if you need something for sturdy this isn’t for you

Absolutely in love with this Bento Box. It's my favorite and I love the way it makes my food look. Bigger than I expected which is always a plus! The strap that comes with it slides off because the box is so sleek but overall 10/10.

I must not have read the description well; I thought it was made in Japan, but it is not, but rather from China. At first I was sorely disappointed, but I settled into overall satisfaction because it really is made of Cryptomeria, the workmanship is fine and there is no indication at all of the odor of lacquers, varnish or other wood finish. I took a lunch of sushi rolls to work, brought the box home and washed it gently by hand in mild soap and water, dried it by hand; it is no worse for the wear.

I’ve always wanted a wooden bento for aesthetic reasons. Found this one had prime delivery so decided to try it out. This was just the right size for me for lunch, I even had some food left over. It may not seem like you can fit much but it is a bit deeper than most bento boxes, another reason why I love it, it’ll be perfect for packing items a bit taller like sandwiches that are cut in half. If you’re worried about getting the bento box dirty then you can line the bottom with parchment paper or cupcake liners to make it easier to clean later. I used a Saran Wrap to cover the food then placed the lid and elastic band and it kept everything in tact. Secret to packing bento, fill in all spaces so items won’t shift during transportation. When I got to work, everything looked the way it did when I packed it.

The elastic strap stays on very well, and the wood is pretty easy to clean. I have a small appetite, so this is perfect for me. If you're a big eater, then this might be a little too small. I would be cautious about throwing it into your bag/backpack, it is not perfectly leak-proof.

Product exactly like pictures! Very lightweight. Easy to clean. Doesn’t have weird smell when first received. I made so many cute bentos using this one. Very happy with my purchase!

So far I just hand wash but these appliances are very common where we are so I’d be good for consumers to have reminders if these are not best for the wood material

It’s the perfect portion. Super easy to clean. Love the sleek professional look, perfect for the office. It is leak proof, I posted a pic w/ water inside the bento, no leaks. The food dividers are not leakproof. I like that it comes with a sauce cup. The utensils and top cover seem to be made out of bamboo. They are cute. Overall it’s a good buy compared to all the other bentos out there. I will buy one for my husband. I would recommend only microwaving the plastic compartments.
